Industrialisation a danger to Point Lowly environment
Here is the article that appeared in the ABC News 22/7/2008.
The Member for Giles, Lyn Breuer, says industrialisation of the Point Lowly Peninsula could ruin the area's coastline and habitat.
Ms Breuer says the only positives it will bring to the area are job opportunities.
"There's been talk about jobs but we don't think that jobs warrant the problems that they could create for us," she says.
"We don't believe that this is an option for this area. We believe there are other areas which should be explored before a decision is made on the Lowly Peninsula.
"We're going really well in Whyalla, we don't need those jobs when it would completely mess up our environment."
